2005 - Doppelprojektion auf eine Wand
Ein Mann und eine Frau erscheinen getrennt voneinander in realer Größe vor neutral weißem Hintergrund. Sie treten zunächst in bequemer Hauskleidung auf, um sich dann offenbar für eine Verabredung umzuziehen. Durch immer neue Kleidungsstücke und Kombinationen verwandeln sie ständig ihr Aussehen und ihren Stil. Die unterschiedlichen Geräusche der Stoffe, das Klirren der Bügel, das Atem und Stöhnen der Darsteller erfüllen den Raum.
Beide begutachten sich kritisch in einem Spiegel. Dabei sind ihre Blicke direkt in die Kamera, bzw. auf uns, die Betrachter, gerichtet. Es bleibt somit offen, für wen sie sich schön machen. Für den Betrachter, für einander oder für eine ganz andere Person?
Nach ca. 20 Minuten sind beide mit ihrem Aussehen einigermaßen zu frieden und eilen aus dem Bild. Licht aus. Tür zu. Nach einer Weile wird das Licht wieder angeknipst und die selbe Prozedur beginnt von vorn.
Die Arbeit war erstmals im Rahmen der Einzelausstellung „Body-Bilder“ (2005) in der Galerie Gabriele Rivet in Köln zu sehen.

2005 - two projections on wall
A man and a woman appear separately from one another, life-size in front of a plain white background. They are first seen in comfortable, casual clothes, then they begin to change their clothing - apparently, for a date. By constantly changing and combining different articles of clothing, they continually transform their appearance and style. The sounds of the different fabrics, the clanking of hangers and the breathing and moaning of the actors fill the room.
Each one appraises him or herself critically in a mirror. In the process, they look directly into the camera, or rather at us, the viewers. In this way, it remains unclear for whom they are dressing up - for the viewer, for each other or for someone else entirely?
After about 20 minutes, each of them is relatively satisfied with his or her appearance, and rushes off-camera. The lights go out. One hears the doors close. After a while, the light is switched back on and the same procedure starts all over again.
This work was first shown as part of the solo exhibition “Body-Bilder” (Body Images, 2005) at the Galerie Gabriele Rivet in Cologne.
