Die beiden Stöpsel in den Ohren befördern den Walkman-Hörer in einen anderen (Klang-)Raum. Er wirkt entrückt. Selbstvergessen summt oder singt er mit. Für Außen stehende leicht befremdlich. Sie hören allenfalls Reste, Klangfetzen, blecherne Rhythmen. Räume, Welten überschneiden sich. Man achte auf die Text-Schnipsel:
"Walkman I": "... anstatt dass, anstatt dass sie täten was 'nen Sinn hat und 'nen Zweck, machen sie Spaß, machen sie Spaß und landen dann natürlich glatt im Dreck ..." (aus der "Dreigroschenoper" von Brecht/Weill).

With plugs in his ears, the Walkman-listener is transferred into a different (audio) space. He looks lost in reverie. Forgetting himself, he hums or sings. This looks a bit strange to outsiders. They hear only bits and pieces, sound bits, metallic beats. Rooms and spaces overlap. Pay attention to the bits of text:
"Walkman I": " ... instead of, instead of doing something sensible, they have fun instead, they have fun and of course they fall in the mud ..." (from the "Dreigroschenoper" by Brecht/Weill).
